Murdoch Children's Research Institute

Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) is the largest child health research institute in Australia and one of the top five worldwide. We specialise in discoveries that transform child health. Our team of more than 1900 talented researchers is dedicated to making discoveries to prevent and treat childhood conditions.

Many of our researchers are also clinicians at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, where the Institute is based. Their research is informed by the problems facing their patients but it also means when a discovery is made, this is quickly transformed into practical treatments for children in the hospital.

Centre for Food and Allergy Research

The Centre for Food & Allergy Research is a collaboration of experts in children’s food allergy and food-related immune disorders. It uses the latest approaches in epidemiology, immunology, paediatrics, nutrition, gastroenterology and biostatistics to investigate factors that cause, prevent and improve food allergies.

 Parent Fact Sheets

Our researchers have written a number of fact sheets regarding a range of child health issues. These provide a brief summary of our recent research findings or more information on a particular topic. These fact sheets are regularly updated when new evidence becomes available. Head to www.mcri.edu.au/parents/parent-fact-sheets

Studies Recruiting

The Institute regularly recruits members of the community to participate in research and clinical trials. We are always seeking participants.Head to www.mcri.edu.au

Get Involved

It is only possible for us to find solutions for serious child health issues with the support of people from across the community.  You can give in many ways to support vital lifesaving research whether as an individual donor, a regular donor, or through your community group or workplace.  Every donation, no matter the size, has the potential to save a child’s life.
